SGI – SIMP congress. Padua, 16th - 18th September 2025

OPENLIT project took part in the SGI (Società Geologica Italiana) – SIMP (Società Italiana di Mineralogia e Petrologia) congress in Padua, from the 16^th to the 18^th of September.

The project was presented during the session #36, "Understanding provenance and processing of geomaterials in archaeological Heritage through mineralogy and petrography: from microscope and geochemistry to AI”, through the contribution "Towards a standardized GIS-based lithotheque: The OPENLIT Project and the Italian chert resources".

We showed the first steps to create the open access lithotheque, introducing the audience the approach and the modalities of our research.

We would like to thank again Società Geologica Italiana (SGI), Società Italiana di Mineralogia e Petrologia (SIMP) and the session organisers for the opportunity to show our project to the scientific community and the possibility to share and acquire knowledge from other session’s participants.
