We are delighted to inform that we took part in the in the Workshop “Silex: an European perspective” in Brussels, from the 12th to the 13th of November. The project was presented through the contribution " The OpenLit project: a first step for an open access lithotheque of Italian knappable rocks. First results and perspectives."

SIMP – SGI congress. Padua, 16th - 18th September 2025
OPENLIT project took part in the SGI (Società Geologica Italiana) – SIMP (Società Italiana di Mineralogia e Petrologia) congress in Padua, from the 16th to the 18th of September. The project was presented during the session #36, "Understanding provenance and processing of geomaterials in archaeological Heritage through mineralogy and petrography: from microscope and geochemistry to AI”, through the contribution "Towards a standardized GIS-based lithotheque: The OPENLIT Project and the Italian chert resources".

Workshop "The knappable resources of southern Tuscany“ - 30th/31st May 2025
We are delighted to inform that on 30th and 31st of May will be held the OPENLIT workshop "The knappable resources of southern Tuscany". The workshop will take place at Grosseto University Campus, (Le Clarisse, via Vinzaglio 27, Grosseto), Uccellina Park (Alberese -Grosseto), La Pietra Natural Reserve (Roccastrada - Grosseto) and Basso Merse Natural Reserve (Monticiano - Siena). The activities are organized by the University of Florence and the University of Bari - Aldo Moro, in collaboration with the University of Rome "La Sapienza", the University of Siena and the Museo e Istituto Fiorentino di Preistoria “Paolo Graziosi”
